LMSAA is raising money for the following award and scholarship, in Rob & Kate Robinson's name for The NSCAA Foundation Endowed Fund.
We, the LMSAA, are honoring Rob “Robby” Robinson for his longstanding commitment to the Lower Merion Soccer Program and the sport of soccer at large. With this honor, we will carry on his and Kate’s legacy by enriching the lives of underserved communities and group nationwide, through the NSCAA Foundation Endowed Funds. His involvement over the past 45 years working in soccer would not have been possible without the amazing, unwavering support from his wife, Kate Robinson. Therefore we are honoring them both.
Rob "Robby" Robinson served as varsity soccer coach at Lower Merion High School from 1968-1990 and was named the Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 1984. During that time Varsity Soccer Coach 1968 to 1990 Lower Merion High School

“I have so many great memories, wonderful experiences that I will have with me always,” said Robinson. “I am so fortunate that I have been able to contribute in some way to the growth of
the sport of soccer at the local, state and national levels. We’re all doing it for the love of the game and the kids we coached.” Robinson’s most recent role was Convention Manager for NSCAA, a position he served in since 1997. Through his association in NSCAA, Robinson, was among those responsible for multiple NSCAA conventions (1976,1980, 1984, 1989, 1996, 1999, 2002,2006, 2010, 2014, 2015 and 2018) held now in Philadelphia at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Previously, Robinson served the NSCAA for 25 years on the Executive Committee and held the positions of treasurer, vice president and president. In 2001, the NSCAA created the NSCAA RobertW. “Robby” Robinson High School Long-Term Service Award in his honor.
Among Robinson’s other achievements:

• Co-founder of the Radnor Soccer Club
• Founder and first Executive Secretary of the PA Soccer Coaches Association
• Instrumental in forming the PSCA All-State Soccer Teams
• Instrumental in launching the Pennsylvania Interscholastic AthleticAssociation (PIAA) state soccer championships
Its purpose is to provide financial support for coaching education opportunities to underserved communities and groups nationwide. The NSCAA Foundation’s goal is one million dollars.
The Case for Support—Why Do We Need an Endowment? Several minority groups and many urban and rural communities face financial and social barriers to coaching education and other resources that could improve their soccer programs. Hispanics, the fastest growing segment of the American population, African Americans in urban communities, and Native Americans in rural areas, all face challenges. The NSCAA Foundation began awarding two or three grants per year in the 90’s; but because the Foundation did not have an endowment, each year we awarded only what we raised.
An endowment will help us better reach these underserved communities and groups by being able to offer more financial support, and thereby provide the opportunity to join the American youth soccer experience, that today is predominantly a suburban experience. A gift to the NSCAA Foundation Endowment will help ensure that we are able to provide financial support to many more individuals, groups, and communities well into the future.
